I think Fudzilla was speculating on ATI’s suggested retail price of the card. The actual price you pay at Newegg depends on the card’s manufacturer, and Newegg’s own pricing.

First off, Fudzilla is wrong, I can get a 5850 for as cheap as $290 on Newegg.com

Secondly, that price has to be wrong, if I can buy a better 5850 for the same price as a 5830, who would buy it?
