A European eRetailer has leaked the specs and stats of the new upcoming ATI GPU early. The new Radeon HD 5830 will be a new mid-high-end ranged card and will retail for about €215 ($295). The GPU spec will be based on AMD’s Cypress LE core technology.

The Cypress LE core is the same that is used in the Radeon HD 5850 cards, although for the 5830, it’ll be slimmed down, as it will provide 1280 shaders vs. 1440 on the 5850. Other specs include that the GPU will be clocked at 750MHz, which, Fudzilla reports is faster by 25MHz than the current 5850 card spec.

It’ll have 60 texture units (vs. 72 on the 5850) and will have the same 1GB as the 5850. Fudzilla expects manufacturers to include the same heatsink and card as the 5850, so the 5830 will be pretty similar to that card in specs, and looks. Like all the Radeon HD 5000-series cards, it’ll have Eyefinity support.

The 5830 will come in two variants, one with two DVI ports and a DisplayPort, with the other variant having two DVI ports and a HDMI port. The early listing on the Euro store had the new card up for €215 ($295).  For comparison, Fudzilla reports that a 5850-series card will cost you around €250 ($343), so the 5830 will be a bit cheaper with a faster clockspeed and just a few reduced stats.

No word on when we can expect these units to start shipping or when we can expect ATI to officially show off these new cards.

    First off, Fudzilla is wrong, I can get a 5850 for as cheap as $290 on Newegg.com

    Secondly, that price has to be wrong, if I can buy a better 5850 for the same price as a 5830, who would buy it?

    @Grant Brown,

    I think Fudzilla was speculating on ATI’s suggested retail price of the card. The actual price you pay at Newegg depends on the card’s manufacturer, and Newegg’s own pricing.

    @Kevin, True, but generally items don’t hold at the MSRP and it’s more real world to state the average price of what you can buy right now.
