Asus G73 Gaming Laptop Coming To The US

The Affordable Asus G73 Hits US Shores For $1,499

After an initial unveiling at CES 2010, Asus has brought their Asus G73 gaming laptop to retail in the United States.  In contrast to other competing laptops that offer its high-performance features, the price of $1,499.99 is surprisingly affordable.

The Asus G73 gaming laptop packs performance-standard hardware options into an angular, black Asus case.  It features an Intel Core i7 720QM processor, 8GB RAM, a 17.3-inch LCD display, a 7200RPM 500GB hard drive, a 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics processor and weighs in at 8 pounds.  That hardware will handle pretty much any current generation title you throw at it, from Crysis to Bioshock 2, as well as processor-heavy tasks like image, video and audio editing.

The Asus G73 gaming laptop is available now from Newegg, shipping for $1,499.99, as well as another version of the G73 with 1TB of storage for $1,599.99.  For a price like that, this writer would have loved to have seen an SSD alternative, but 7200RPM storage and 8GB of RAM will more than suffice for any game a user could desire.
