TDK Reveals Kleer Wireless Headphones [TDK TH-WR700 Wireless Headphones Brings Kleer Format To Your Headphone Jack]
The Japanese media device company TDK has released a new set of wireless headphones that uses the Kleer wireless technology for a higher fidelity wireless connection. The TDK TH-WR700 Wireless Headphones use a dongle connection to transmit a wireless signal from any 3.5mm headphone jack.

With their new TH-WR700 wireless headphones, TDK is suggesting that the Bluetooth protocol isn’t capable of handling high fidelity audio transmission on a wireless spectrum. These headphones use a hardware dongle that connects to a 3.5mm headphone jack to transmit the Kleer wireless tech, a protocol that provides up to 40dB less noise than standard Bluetooth. For those following along at home, 40dB is quite a significant and noticeable upgrade.
The TDK TH-WR700 Wireless Headphones will begin shipping in Japan this March for $200. Our only knock on the new TDK device is that it is clearly marketed for the iPhone and other smartphones, but doesn’t add additional value to the telephony side of these devices. While the 3.5mm jack is prohibitive for two-way transmission, maybe opting for a ported connection and an included microphone would allow for talking when receiving a call? These wireless headphones are a great value as is, but a mic and a ported connection could make them a hit.
