ViewSonic has revealed a new Android-powered tablet PC at a press conference in Beijing, China.  The ViewSonic VTablet 101 uses the Android mobile OS and a Cortex-A9 processor to provide tablet-style mobile computing at a low price point.

A new startup looks like a real threat to Amazon’s combined Kindle-Kindle Store ecosystem. Copia will be an open platform that will not only sell you eBooks to multiple eReaders, but through an online portal, they’re building in social networking features, like book reviews, friends lists, and online discussion groups.

Their product, called the Webbook, can be used like a traditional computer, but the screen can be folded back to an innovative ‘easel mode’ where it stands up straight.

The Taiwanese mobile phone manufacturer Gigabyte has teased their first foray into the world of Android Smartphones.  The Gigabyte GSmart Android Smartphone will run Android 1.6 and will see its first shipments in Russia next month.
