T-Mobile MyTouch Slide Spotted In Photos
A new leak shows an update to the T-Mobile MyTouch device that is rumored to replace the T-Mobile Sidekick. The T-Mobile MyTouch Slide adds a slide-out QWERTY keypad and Android 2.0 to T-Mobile’s popular MyTouch smartphone.

The T-Mobile MyTouch Slide appears to be a rebranded HTC Espresso, a device that may replace the popular slide-style Sidekick smartphone that T-Mobile is currently phasing out. The T-Mobile MyTouch Slide will feature a full QWERTY keypad, a click-down optical trackpad, a 480×320 touchscreen and an ARM11-based processor. The unit would be upgraded to Android 2.0, as suggested by the unit’s LED flash for its rear-mounted digital camera (as Android 2.0 supports such hardware). The unit will also feature MicroSDHC storage, but in this case that storage is accessible without removing the MyTouch battery pack.
The new HTC Espresso-based T-Mobile MyTouch Slide should begin shipping as soon as May 2010. As rumored, this device would replace the older T-Mobile Sidekick phones and be a clear upgrade over the older T-Mobile MyTouch 3G. A hardware QWERTY keypad is an important feature for an Android phone, one that should round on the MyTouch offering and see greater market success.
