Walmart Nexus One Listing An Error, its Official

Walmart Nexus One Not Planned, Teaser Page a ‘Technical Error’

Yesterday we reported that Walmart appeared to be gearing up to stocking Google’s Nexus One smartphone and we reported it with good reason being that Walmart (Walmart Wirless) actually put a page up stating that the Walmart Nexus One was ‘coming soon’ but now Walmart have backtracked and denied that they intend to offer up the Nexus One ‘at this time’.

Apparently the listing that, as can be seen by the screen shot provided below, was a ‘technical error’ though, it has to be said, listing a product as coming soon strikes us as being an odd ‘technical error’ to make.

“Due to a technical error, this item erroneously was displayed on our site …” said Walmart.com spokesman Ravi Jariwala. “We have no plans to carry Nexus One in Walmart stores or online at Walmart.com at this time.”

At a later time then, perhaps? Either ways, we find it incredulous for a vendor to go to the effort of making and publishing a product page listing said product (aka the Nexus One) as ‘coming soon’ only to then announce it isn’t. Someone somewhere has undoubtedly got a stern talking to.
