10-In Apple Tablet Coming from Verizon for $800 [Unsubsidized Apple Tablet to Cost $1,000 in March; Verizon to Announce the iPhone Too]
In case you forgot, folks, today, January 27 is the day dedicated to Apple’s upcoming product, the unnamed yet Apple tablet. Apple is hosting a special event in San Francisco in which it should offer us all the details regarding the tablet. After all, the device has already been confirmed on CNBC so we are sure that it’s coming.

Verizon is also getting ready for a press release of its own later on today. The carrier could announce both the tablet and the iPhone and that’s a rumor we’ve heard for a while now. But according to some recent sources Verizon will indeed sell the iTablet / iPad / iSlate for an subsidized price and the iPhone is also coming to Big Red this year.
The tablet is now said to be available for $800 as long as it’s purchased on contract from Verizon and it will cost $1,000 without a contract in March when it will arrive. That’s not exactly similar to what we’ve heard from developers and publishers that did receive inside information regarding the device. In an earlier report people said that the tablet will not be priced anywhere near $1,000 but it looks more and more like the right price to pay for Apple’s latest creation is around $1,000.
Furthermore the tablet is said to look like a larger, 10-inch, iPhone and come with a MacBook-like aluminum back. Nothing surprising there, right?
Verizon seems to be the main player in Apple tablet-related rumors and news. Is Apple really ditching AT&T today? Recent rumors say that Verizon will get the iPhone and whether this happens immediately or later this year remains to be seen.
Today’s Apple tablet event will also feature new products like iLife ‘10 which is probably going to be ready for the tablet too but, unfortunately for MacBook Pro fans, the much awaited refresh is not coming yet.
What do you say? Anxious to follow Apple’s event?
