Rumors are swirling about a February announcement by Canon that may see a new DSLR and an update to the Rebel line of digital cameras. The Canon EOS 60D DSLR and the new Rebel digital cameras will likely receive swivel-screen displays to compete with comparable models by Nikon.

Canon is due to make new announcements about its products for 2010 at the PMA Photography Expo in Anaheim, California on February 20th. A leak suggests that Canon has adopted the new swivel-screen display standard recently championed by Nikon and other DSLR manufacturers. The new Canon EOS 60D DSLR is likely to get a revealing at the conference, and should include the new swivel screen– as will its new Rebel line of digital cameras, according to the leak.
The new Canon EOS 60D is likely to include a few other noteworthy upgrades over the current EOS 50D model. The Canon 60D should maintain the metal body and 15MP resolution of the 50D, but with an improved sensor and low-light sensitivity. Add 1080p HD video recording, and the new Canon 60D should be a competitive offer against the comparable Nikons on the market today. Keep your eyes peeled for the February 20th PMA Photography Expo, where these rumors should take form.

Articulating screen is a dream come true. Please make it in 5d class camera. This will allow to finally take the face off the camera and spend more time with subject. And get rid of that stupid mirror.
On a Canon such a screen would be much appreciated, I agree. One thing the 7D lacks, alas.
