Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has officially unveiled today that they’ll begin selling Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X10 in the country, soon. Dubbed docomo Smartphone Xperia, the handset brings the same 4-inch touchscreen display and the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with Android running the show.

The Japanese XPERIA X10 boasts a rather huge touchscreen display (4.0 inches WVGA, 854 x 480 pixels), the same impressive 8.1 megapixel camera that has a face recognition feature, 1 GB of ROM, 384 MB of RAM, Wi-Fi (b/g) connectivity and has FOMA high-speed HSUPA/HSDPA support — which means you’ll be able to do 2 Mbps uploads an 7.2 Mbps downloads while in your favorite sushi bar.
On top of that the Smartphone XPERIA will additionally sport a media player that Sony Ericsson have named Mediascape, and which organizes music, photos and videos.
Although pricing has yet to be unveiled, we know for sure the NTT DoCoMo will actually have the XPERIA X10 in stores coming April, in two variants “Sensuous Black” and “Luster White”. A big disappointment however, is the fact that the handset is going to come running Android 1.6, which by April is going to be history.
