AT&T & T-Mobile HTC Obsession Release Date Rumored
Ain’t that funny? AT&T and T-Mobile are supposedly going to introduce the new HTC Diamond3, previously known as HTC Obsession, sometime in the near future. Although there’s nothing confirmed for now, it looks like the two companies are going to be the first two US carriers to bring a Windows Mobile 7 smartphone to their network.

The new HTC Diamond3 is expected be a GSM version, only, as sales numbers have proved that the previous CDMA versio has failed to impress. It runs on a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that clocks in at 1GHz, a 3.7 inch capacitive AMOLED display with multi-touch functionality, a 5 megapixel camera with flash and video recording ( HD 720p video@ 25fps) and GSM/HSDPA support.
On top of that we’re hearing that there’s 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM, 4GB of built-in memory space, a microSDÂ up to expand that with another 32GB and a 1230mAh battery good for up to 10 hours of talk time and 240 hours in stand by mode.
So should this mean that we’d better get prepared to see the HTC Diamond3 showing off at MWC2010 in Barcelona, which means that we’ll be spotting Windows Mobile 7, too?

With WinMo7 on its way, the only certain thing is that Windows Mobile 6.x will not be with us much longer.
Windows Mobile 6.x is losing market share very rapidly. Its market share will be non-existent soon, apart from the arrival of its successor.
I think it would be better to wait until the Windows Mobile 7 phones are out, as today’s Windows Mobile 6.5 phones will soon be rendered obsolete, ending the possibility of updates and new software.
Alternately, if you can’t wait for WinMo7, get a phone from one of the other platforms such as Android or iPhone.
