Sony Ericsson Vivaz Leaked [Kurara Prototype Coming to Market, Running Symbian, HD Video Recording]

A leak at global PR firm Burson-Marsteller has confirmed the existence of the rumored Kurara smartphone. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz, as it’ll be known, will come with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, and will be running Symbian S60. The design of the phone, is quintessential Sony Ericsson, as it takes cues from the Xperia X10 – and reportedly was designed by the same team.

Obviously, one of the big revelations is that the Vivaz will come packing Symbian, despite the increasing popularity of Android. The Sony Ericsson Satio came equipped with Symbian S60 5th edition (the same that will come on the Vivaz) and when TFTS reviewed it, and our man Andrew reporting positively on how Symbian ran on the Satio – so don’t Symbian spoil your hopes for the Vivaz.

On the hardware side, the Vivaz will come with a powerful 8.1-megapixel camera that will be be able of capturing video clips at 720p HD. No HDMI-out, but the phone will be able to directly upload photos or videos to Picasa or YouTube. The Vivaz will feature a 700MHz processor, likely a Snapdragon. For video playback, it’ll play H.264, MPEG4, WMV, MP3 and will have an FM tuner – just further proof the phones are replacing PMPs.

No word on internal storage but the phone will have a microSD slot for expansion as well as a USB port. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity is confirmed, and the phone will operation on GSM/3G bands. The phone will come in four different colors and will cost between $670-$750.
