Sony VAIO Z Series Available in Europe This March [Sony VAIO Z Laptops with Quad SSD Technology, Intel Core i7 Processors, 3G Support]

Now if there’s a laptop in the world capable of genuinely fighting a MacBook from Apple, then we must be talking about a VAIO from Sony. Sure it still runs Windows in the background but it’s not Vista anymore but Windows 7, an OS version that we do like. Bundle that with some more than decent specs and you’ll end up with a VAIO Z series laptop on your lap.

Announced at CES the new VAIO Z line is arriving faster than expected. The two available models, the VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and the VAIO VPCZ11X9E should reach European customers by the end of March. Prices still remain undisclosed but the new laptops can be already pre-ordered in Europe.

So what will these laptops have to offer you ask? Well, where should I start? The new machines will surprise you with innovative solutions, performance and good looks. They sport 13.1-inch LED backlit displays that offer 16:9 aspect ratio and 1,920 x 1,080 or 1,600 x 900 resolutions. The powerful graphics card knows exactly what you are working on and can adapt according to your needs. Alternatively you can manually select graphic modes of this integrated NVIDIA GeForce GT330M GPU that comes with 1GB GDDR3 VRAM memory.

We have more interesting features for you. Both models will come equipped with Intel Core i7 processors that can go up to 3.33GHz and 2.93GHz respectively. Sony has developed an interesting Quad SSD technology that allows them to add a maximum of four SSDs to your future Z series laptop and those bundled solid state drives will offer you up to 6.2x faster transfer speeds than regular HDDs.

Other specs include up to 6GB and 4GB, respectively, of DDR3 SDRAM memory, built-in ambient light sensor, backlit keyboard, VAIO Care support, 3G mobile broadband support and Wi-Fi n connectivity. Everything is packed inside a 210 x 23.8-32.7 x 314 mm case that only weighs 1.43kg. As I said, only a MacBook can beat those babies.
