Samsung Shark Phones Get Official

Last year Samsung made public a plethora of phones before and after MWC 2009. Should we imagine that the company will take a similar approach to MWC 2010? Today the company officially announced three new phones ready to meet your social networking needs on the go. These are all part of the Shark series, the Shark S5350, Shark 2 S5550 and the Shark 3 S3550.
The phones will be available later this month and they will bring you “Samsung’s signature designs for 2010” which include sleek ergonomics and “unrivalled style.” The first in the series is a regular candybar phone while the other two are both slider phones.
Younghee Lee, Vice President of Mobile Marketing, Samsung Electronics, had this to say about the Shark phones:
The Shark Series is designed to meet the needs of active, style-conscious users who demand constant connection with their peers. The Shark Series will not only keep these users up-to-date with the latest news and information important to them, but also allows them to express their own style and distinctive personal taste.
The Shark S5350 is a multimedia packed device which sports an updated Graphic User Interface, HSDPA support, quadband GSM/EDGE connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, “multi-instant” messenger which includes GTalk, AIM and Palringo Chat and support for all your social networking sites.
The Shark 2 S5550 is a slider phone that will offer you an AMOLED screen, HSDPA support, quadband GSM/EDGE connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and 30fps video recording, 110MB of internal memory upgradeable via microSD up to 8GB, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, multi-instant messenger and social networking sites support.
The last handset, the Shark 3 S3550 is also a slider phone but not quite as powerful as the S5550. It comes with only quadband GSM/EDGE connectivity, a 2-megapixel camera, 40MB of built-in memory and up to 8GB microSD expansion support. Social networking is also very well represented so go ahead and make your bid for one when the times come.
No prices have been mentioned but you can expect all those Shark phones to be available for competitive prices.
