Orange France Confirms Apple Tablet [Applet Slate Coming to Orange Customers in Europe]

Two more weeks to go until Apple will present officially its tablet to the world. In the mean time we get to explore more rumors and leaks which happen to confirm the device and reveal more of its specs and features.
After we’ve seen the tablet getting confirmed by third parties in the USA, like the NY Times, it’s not time for some European official to talk about the tablet. Stephane Richard which happens to be the second in command at France Telecom, the company behind the Orange giant, said in an interview that the tablet will be available in France. And since Orange doesn’t operate its business in France only, Apple’s tablet will probably be available in other markets where Orange stores can be found.
Mr. Richard confirmed that the tablet will arrive in a “few days” when directly asked about it but he didn’t specifically talk about the device. Instead he answered “yes” to a bunch of questions. He also said that “yes” the tablet comes with a webcam on board and “yes”, Orange customers will be able to use it.
This is of course very good use as it comes straight from the mouth of a highly ranked France Telecom official. I don’t know if Apple is happy about this official leak but we certainly are. Among other things the fact that Orange customers will be able to enjoy it also must mean that the slate is going to have GSM 3G support. And since people expect Verizon to sell the device in the USA we can assume that Apple could be also launching a CDMA version of the tablet.
Coupled with the rest of the rumors we’ve heard these last few months we could also conclude that if a CDMA 3G tablet is coming to Verizon in March, Big Red should also be able to sell a CDMA iPhone 4G in July.
