D-Link Rush, Pocket Wireless Routers Unveiled [Two New Routers, One For Travel, One For Home]
D-Link took the covers off of two new routers at CES this year, the Rush, a powerful new wireless device that can boost the speed and connectivity of your existing home wireless network. The D-Link Wireless Pocket Router was also shown off, a new pocket-sized travel router.
The D-Link Rush can transmit in either the old 2.4GHz wireless band or the quicker 5GHz band for transferring your HD media and other large files across your home network. In addition to being used as a basic router, D-Link says it can be used as a network access point to extend the coverage of your wireless home network. The Rush will be able to transmit in any 802.11 band (a, b, g, n).
The D-Link Wireless Pocket Router is a small travel router that is small, compact, and will come with its own leather carrying case. Like the Rush, the Wireless Pocket can either create its own wireless network (of the 802.11n flavor) or act as an access point for an existing one. It features D-Link’s SharePort technology which lets users share USB gadgets connected to the router.
D-Link showed off the devices at CES in person, and said they were shipping ‘later this year’, although they didn’t disclose a perspective price for the devices.
