I’m surprised to see that few reviewers have mentioned the comparative flash storage capacities of the Nexus One versus the iPhone. Though $100+ more expensive (I’m comparing service contract subsidies), you can obtain 32GB of disk space with an iPhone 3GS. I take photos, download music, and now – some movies to my iPhone. 4GB even supposing a 16GB microSD for the Nexus One is not comparable. Does this seem like an obvious point that’s been ignored? Just curious.

Well yes Davey, you have a couple of points there. But I am not comparing T-Mobile and AT&T. I think it’s clear for everyone that AT&T is not exactly ready to let customers enjoy the iPhone to the fullest. The main point I am making is that I was expecting the Nexus One to come in blazing through and make a very good first impression. Kind of what the Droid did back in November when it was launched. It’s only a matter of time before Google makes everything go away but this shy Nexus One launch might make some people think twice before buying it.

The iPhone is not the phone it could be yet and it also had various problems along the years. Nonetheless Apple managed to better market it and sell millions of it. Will Google do the same with the Nexus One or any of its followers? One could only hope so, right?

This is hilarious. You mention 3G (or any connection at all) when comparing the iPhone. One word: AT&T.

T-Mobile can get bad-mouthed all day, but it’s because they’re the smallest carrier of the Big 4. Yet AT&T is number 2, former 1. And their 3G is how bad? Let alone the reception on the iPhone is ungodly. And why does that matter? Because at the end of the day…with your Pandora you can not multitask, the customization you will not see, the individuality of a phone….its still a phone. Point blank. And the iPhone sort of fails at that.

Yet lets get to your point…multitouch it has, not in native apps though. Kind of the reverse process of Apple and multitasking (seems these companies just don’t like “multi” things) where Apple limits a certain task to only native apps. So seeing as our multitouch option is only limited by developers…it’s not THAT bad.

Android Market vs App Store…I find to be a moot point. You can have all the apps in the world. But the truth of the matter is of those 100,000 apps a lot are copies. So for the main consumer, what you can find on iPhone you can find on Android. The main thing I will say market must work on is cleaning up the organization (which the App Store must do too) and getting better UI’s to these apps. Because when you have 20,000 apps there will normally not be a mainstream app you can not find.

Not to mention the Market is growing each day and will continue to see additions. Only thing the App Store will ever hold over Android at the moment is games…which doesn’t bother too many Android users I have seen.

I have to disagree I have the nexus one and I have not had any problems with it. To say the apple I phone is the best phone on the market would be a personal choice as of now do to the open source platforms and other os that are doing really well. And the problem with nexus ones 3G is T-Mobile 3G cellular net work that is affordable for people and somewhat reliable. Now if you really want the best 3G net work go with version. Even though you can surf the web and talk at the same who does that.

Thanks for the tip. Don’t buy the very first version of something the day it comes out because there might be problems with it. That certainly didn’t happen with the iPhone…

I’m a MacHead, I own two macs, two ipods and I like the iphone. The Nexus One is prob. the only one that would lure me away. That and not having to use AT&T.

I’m sure Google can fix the problems as quickly as Apple fixed the 3G problems that are not an issue anymore at all…
