Sony VAIO W Series Eco-friendly Netbook Breaks Cover [Sony Vaio W Eco Edition With Plastic Case Made from CDs]

At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Sony have added a new netbook to the collection with the new Sony VAIO W Series. An eco-friendly addition that would make the green-minded happy, the new Sony Vaio W comes with a plastic case that is 23-percent made from recycled CDs, goes around in a carrying case made from recycled PET bottles and replaces the paper manual with a digital version.
Performance wise, the Sony Vaio W Eco Edition boasts the same 10.1-inch 1366 x 768 pixel LED Backlit display, runs on an Intel Atom N450 (Pine Trail) processor although other Atom processors are available. It has 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and comes bundled with Windows 7 Starter Edition. On top of that there’s also802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR connectivity, a multi format card reader and a high capacity battery that promises a 7 hours run time between charges.
Price wise, the new Sony VAIO W Eco Edition should sell for something in between of $449 and $599, depending on the configuration you’re going for.
