New Gateway EC Series (Gateway EC58) Ultraportable Notebook Unveiled

11.6” Gateway EC58 Boasts Intel ULV CPU, DVD Drive – Due to Hit This Month

Following on from having offered you an initial heads up back in October concerning the Gateway EC58 (see: Gateway Debuts EC14, EC54 & EC58 Windows 7 Notebooks) Gateway have now officially confirmed that their new Intel ULV CPU touting 11.6” Gateway EC58 ultraportable notebook is set to hit retail this month (somewhat later than we initially reported).

Running Windows 7 Home Premium, the Gateway EC58, which employs an Ultra Low Voltage Intel Pentium Core CPU, aside from sporting an 11.6” 1366×768 resolution widescreen display, offers up a 320GB hard drive, up to a total of 8GB of RAM (in 2 x 4GB configuration), WiFi wireless connectivity, HDMI port, webcam, an integrated card reader and in-built 8X Super Multi double-layer DVD drive whilst, in terms of battery endurance, the EC58’s 6-cell battery purportedly offers up to eight hours of life based on a full charge.
