LaCie has been one of the leaders in the home digital media set-top box market, and at CES they’ve unveiled their newest creation, the LaCinema Mini HD – a new HD-ready digital media box for getting your digital content onto a big HDTV.

The LaCinema can stream content from a NAS device, attached USB drive or any networked PC – but it also includes an internal hard drive for a minimum amount of lag (no word on what capacities will be offered from the French manufacturers). The LaCinema is capable of impressive full HD 1080p video, and comes with an HDMI port for connection to your TV.

LaCie says the LaCinema will be capable of playing back “any movie, photo or music file,” and that an extensive list of codecs will be support. The big ones (MKV, AVC and DivX) will be there, of course. The sleek black design was produced by famed Scottish gadget designer Neil Poulton. The “Mini” LaCinema line differs from the “Classic” line in it’s trimmed down look.

No word on pricing for the LaCinema (it’ll easily be +$200). It’s currently available in Europe, with it shipping worldwide from LaCie’s online store later this year.
