T-Mobile HTC HD2 Availability Confirmed [T-Mobile Gains HTC HD2 Exclusivity in the US]

T-Mobile HTC HD2 Windows Mobile Smartphone

Right when we got down finding out that T-Mobile is probably going to discontinue their @Home service we caught wind that the US carrier is going to be the exclusive seller of the new HTC HD2 smartphone. Announced by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer during his CES 2010 keynote, the HD2 brings a high resolution (480 x 800) 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a very smooth response, runs on a rather fast 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, has 512MB of RAM, Wi-Fi b/g, 7.2 Mbps HSPA 3G and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity.

On top of that it runs Windows Mobile Professional 6.5.

Adding to the things you may already know about it, the new HTC HD2 is the first WinMo smartphone to run HTC Sense. On top of that it comes with a proximity sensor that would prevent false screen touches for when you take the phone out of your pocket, or a light sensor that will automatically going to adjust the screen’s brightness for when you’re out in the sun.

“T-Mobile and HTC have a long history of partnering to deliver innovative, cutting-edge products to T-Mobile customers,” said George Harrison, vice president, marketing product innovation, T-Mobile USA. “The HTC HD2 delivers a thin, sophisticated design and powerful features that we are excited to add to our dynamic smartphone lineup this spring.”
