Netgear Reveals Digital Entertainer Express EVA9100 1080p Media Streamer

Netgear has updated their line of digital media streamer devices with the new Netgear Digital Entertainer Express EVA9100. The HD-ready Netgear EVA9100 streams digital media from networked computers or NAS storage, as well as online content– all in up to 1080p HD resolution.
The Netgear Digital Entertainer Express EVA9100 connects to a users network via the standard 10/100 ethernet or an optional WiFi dongle. EVA9100 also offers two USB 2.0 ports for iPods, USB hard drives or other direct connections not available on your home network. The unit connects to an HDTV with an HDMI cable, although Netgear has neglected to include an HDMI cable in the box. In addition to HDMI, the Netgear EVA9100 also offers a range of connectivity including RGB, composite/component video, stereo RCA audio or S/PDIF digital audio, S-Video and SCART.
Netgear’s Digital Entertainer Express EVA9100 is shipping now with an included IR remote and ethernet cable for $249. Expect more devices like Netgear’s new streamer at CES 2010, so it might make sense to wait before adding one of these to your home network.
