Right after showing off their new Windows 7 setup that include the new Pavilion Elite HPE desktop PC and the multitouch-capable L2105tm LCD monitor, HP have just added to their workstation lineup with the new HP Z200. Although an entry-level workstation that resembles with the company’s more expensive versions (Z400, Z600 and Z800), the new HP Z200 allows customization with your choice of Intel Core i3, Core i5 dual-core and quad-core Xeon 3400 processors.

Under the hood, the HP Z200 workstation features up to three 3.5-inch 7,200 rpm SATA drives (max 4.5TB) or optional 64GB SSDs, 4 DIMM slots for up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, your choice of DVD or Blu-Ray burners, a 320Watt power supply that promises to be 89% more energy efficient, four PCI Express slots and 11 USB ports (2 in front, 6 in the back and 3 internally), a 22-in-1 media card reader, audio in/out, one DVI-D dual link and a DisplayPort with optional PCI card.

Entry-level models of the Z200 (Core i3 and i5) boast an integrated GPU, while other models allows for a more professional approach with both ATI and NVIDIA options ranging from the Quadro NVS 295 (256MB) that delivers astounding 2D graphics, to the ATI FirePro V3700 or the Quadro FX 580 for an entry-3D experience, topping with the Quadro FX 1800 (768MB) or the FirePro V5700 (512 MB) for mid-range 3D.

The HP Z200 workstation begins selling next month and should be priced North of $769.
