Eye-Fi have unveiled their newly updated high-end Eye-Fi Pro WiFi touting SD memory card in the form of the 8GB Eye-Fi Pro X2 which, along with offering 802.11b/g/n support also boasts twice the memory capacity of its predecessor – thus resulting in the most powerful Eye-Fi memory card ever.

The 8GB Eye-Fi Pro X2, which like previous Eye-Fi cards allows for wireless uploading of your photos and files via your wireless home network directly from the card itself, additionally comes with a year of free hotspot access (valued at $14.99) allowing end users to upload files via hotspots in airports, hotels, cafes and, of course, McDonalds, whilst automatic geotagging allows for the easy organisation of files (specifically photos) as well as facilitating the capability to view, shear and share ‘your latest trips’ via a map.

Along with the aforementioned features the 8GB Eye-Fi Pro X2 also features what’s termed as ‘Endless Memory’ which will act to delete the oldest images on the card so as to ensure you always have free capacity available when you need it – and, thanks to the card cross checks with what you’ve previously uploaded, there’s no fear of you loosing imagery that’s not been uploaded previously.

The 8GB Eye-Fi Pro X2 is set to become available as of today and will set you back just shy of $150.
