Vaio TT notebook

Whatever you do, don’t call them netbooks. Sony has re-introduced their line of Vaio TT CULV notebooks. They were discontinued earlier this year after Sony faced increasing competition in the CULV market. Unlike the increasing selection of bland netbooks, these Vaio TT notebooks actually have some processing power under the hood.

Vaio TT buyers will have a choice of three processors, the Celeron SU 2300 (1.2GHz), a Core 2 Duo SU9400 (1.4GHz) and a Core 2 Duo SU9600 (1.6GHz), all dual core processors that can blow any Atom Pine Trail chip out of the water. 4GB of RAM will be standard with 8GB as a upgrade choice, and they’ll come pre-installed with Windows 7.

Buyers will be able to choice between a 500GB HDD or a 512GB SSD. Other options like Blu-ray, a TV tuner or a fingerprint scanner can be included on your new Vaio TT laptop. Sony promises up to 11 hours of battery life on these machines. No word on a release date, but the cheapest configuration will cost you ¥129,800 ($1,395).
