ASUS Eee PC 1001P Pine Trail Netbook Coming

Netbooks sold incredibly well last year, with their low price point and the world-wide recession and the tech communities’ excitement over Intel’s new Pine Trail generation of Atom processors has gotten all of the netbook manufacturers releasing new netbooks that carry the Pine Trial chips.
ASUS is bringing another new Pine Trail netbook to market. The 1001P will keep the similar “Seashell” look that all previous ASUS netbooks carried. As for stats, the Eee PC 1001P will be your typical netbook, with a 10.1-inch screen, the Intel N450 Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB of HDD space, along with Windows XP.
The 1001P will weigh only 1.1kg, and ASUS has promised a new ‘slim-fitting’ battery that can delivery 11 hours of battery life for the netbook. Amazon Germany, has begun taking pre-orders for the new Taiwanese netbook. The 1001P will start shipping on January 6th, 2010 and is costing Germans €267 ($384). No word on a North American release.
