ASUS Eee Pad Tablet to Use Tegra Graphics

Multi-touch Eee Pad Specs Are Scarce, May Run Android 2.1

Asus Eee Pad Tablet

About two weeks ago we caught wind that all the hype surrounding Apple’s long rumored tablet device has “forced” ASUS to join the war and release their own tabled. The news came from Taiwanese tabloid Digitimes who are renowned for the rumors they spread, but after hearing that the guys at NetbookNews got their hands on some inside tips saying that the ASUS Eee Pad will be using on of NVIDIA’s Tegra chipsets, it certainly looks a bit more promising.

Supposedly running with probably the fastest ARM processor under the hood, the 4- to 7-inch ASUS Eee Pad is expected to deliver at least 720p HD imagery, with our hopes high for even 1080p.

Other than that, another thing to have caused some serious drooling for us in here is the fact that the Eee Pad has a native multi-touch display although it doesn’t work on Windows CE or Mobile. On top of that Windows 7 is also ruled out as it’s not yet compatible with ARM processors, but you knew that already.

So what does it leave us with? How about Android 2.1 guys, it certainly sounds like a solid option to go with.
