The Samsung Corby is a pretty interesting handset. It comes in cool colors and it has some handy features capable of meeting your daily mobile needs. Like that wasn’t enough, Samsung decided to already launch a Corby successor, the M5650 Lindy.

Isn’t it a little too early for a Corby successor? Samsung has kept throwing at us new handset after new handset so we’re not exactly that surprised to see a brand new mobile made official. The M5650 Lindy is already on sale in some European countries and it will probably reach most markets soon.

So in case you have postponed buying a Corby handset so far, you’d better skip it and wait for the Lindy to arrive. Here’s what Samsung’s latest mobile phone will have to offer:

  • Quad-band GSM support
  • 3.5G support – HSDPA 7.2Mbit/sec
  • 2.8-touchscreen support
  • 3-megapixel camera
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Facebook, Flickr, Photobucket, YouTube, Picasa, MySpace support
  • MP3 Player
  • FM Radio
  • 50MB internal memory
  • microSD support
  • USB and Bluetooth connectivity
  • 3.5mm headset jack

So what do you say? Was it worth not buying the Corby? The Corby is basically the cheapest touchscreen Samsung device. It completely lacks 3G support and it comes with a 2-megapixel camera and TouchWiz UI support.

The Corby was priced around €150 and luckily for you the Lindy has a very convenient price too. The phone is available in Portugal for just €159 and we should see the handset arrive in most markets soon. You might even be able to walk with a free Lindy out of your carrier’s stores as long as you’re ready to sign a new contract.

Or are you going to simply wait to see what Samsung will come up with next? After all, if the Corby had a successor, the Lindy could be upgraded too in just a few months.
