Sprint's Mac-Friendly U301 3G/4G WiMAX Modem Revealed

Sprint has quietly introduced the Mac-friendly U301 3G/4G WiMAX modem which will be the first to bring 4G mobile internet to Snow Leopard users. The Sprint U301 modem also features a new, sleek black design with a rotating USB connection to provide for an easier fit in tight spaces.
The new Sprint U301 modem is the first of its kind to extend Sprint’s 4G mobile network across the latest PC and Mac operating systems. While having released this modem without much fanfare, the news is likely to excite Mac users who desire the latest in mobile speed for their notebooks. That speed is between 3-6Mbps in available Sprint coverage areas, which at present includes most major U.S. cities. For those outside of 4G coverage, the Sprint U301 modem will receive download speeds between 600Kbps to 1.4Mbps on EVDO Revision A-based 3G networks where available.
The Sprint U301 3G/4G WiMAX modem does not yet have a release date or pricing, but the U300 model is still available for PC users. Expect the Sprint U301 to be priced at or around the $349.99 retail price of the U300 version.
