Google Nexus One is Definitely Something

Two years ago I heard rumors regarding a Google phone for the first time and I remember making things clear with my buds, that Google will eventually find a profitable way to join the mobile phone market by releasing their own handset. Looks like I wasn’t far from the truth, as for the last few days tech blogs have gone wild with all sorts of (nothing official) details concerning a supposedly Nexus One smartphone built by HTC.

But if you’re like us and have already felt for it, here’s a little something that could bring a smile on your face. Apparently just a few days ago on December 10, Google has filed for the “Nexus One” trademark. And yes, that means that Nexus One is actually something as for being granted registration they need to use it in commerce sometime in the the future. Something we say as it could be either a free unlocked GSM Android set for all to use, or maybe just the company’s next-gen Android Developer phone — hence why the device might be limited to T-Mobile’s 3G network.
Just to refresh your memory, the Nexus One handset boasts a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera with flash and runs Android 2.1. On top of that it’s only natural to assume that there’s GPS support and all the Google apps you can handle.
So yeah, we’re somehow excited about it!
