Sony Ericsson Elm & Hazel Phones Get Official [Sony Ericsson Launches New GreenHeart Phones]

Sony Ericsson has announced a couple of new phones right before Christmas. The Sony Ericsson Elm and the Sony Ericsson Hazel have been announced in London yesterday and in case you are looking for a new green handset then you should definitely check them out.
Both phones are made out of recycled plastics and there are no hazardous chemicals involved in the making of the Elm and the Hazel. You can also expect E-manuals and small packaging with the Elm and Hazel so go ahead and grab either one of them if you want to help save the planet.
The Sony Ericsson Elm is a candybar phone that’s going to be available at some point in the first quarter of next year while the Sony Ericsson Hazel is a slider that’s going to be available in the second quarter of 2010. You can expect these new phones to arrive in some crazy colors: Metal Black and Pearly Rose for the Elm and Superior Black and Passionate Rouge for the Hazel.
The Elm comes with a 2.2-inch QVGA display, HSDPA support, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google Maps support, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, 280MB of internal memory and microSD support and social networking (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter) integration. The Hazel is very similar to the Elm in features and specs but it comes with a larger 2.6-inch display.

Both phones will arrive to your door with a GreenHeart personal handsfree, the Stereo Portable Handsfree HPM-60J which is also impressive. Here’s what Fortune Alexander, Global Marketing Director at Sony Ericsson had to say about the new devices:
The Sony Ericsson Elm and the Sony Ericsson Hazel phones offer consumers a green choice without compromising on features or fun. These mobile phones also give consumers a better voice quality experience, with Noise Shield, Clear Voice and Intelligent Volume Adaptation. Both phones offer an easy-to-use social networking experience featuring the Widget Manager application, which allows users access to their social networking page via the stand-by screen and quickly switch between different social networks.
As you can see both handsets promise a lot of features while being as eco-friendly as possible at this point in time. What would you choose between the Elm and the Hazel?
