Nokia 7230 Gains FFC Approval [AT&T & Rogers 3G Friendly Nokia 7230 Clears FFC, US Release Pending?]

We offered you an initial insight concerning the new Nokia 7230 phone back in November, and now the Nokia 7230 has gained FFC approval in the US which, interestingly, sees the device offering up support of both AT&T and Rogers 3G networks – though, of course, that doesn’t serve as confirmation that the Nokia 7230 will indeed hit AT&T or Rogers (merely that they are wholly catered for).

The Nokia 7230, which is a Series 40 device (say no more), aside from boasting 3G connectivity, offers a ‘large’ 2.4” display, 3.2 megapixel camera, an integrated music player taking in MP3 and AAC audio formats and built-in FM radio tuner. Additionally the 3G Nokia 7230 also touts quick access to both email and social networking sites, allowing you to access such site ‘on the go’ should you wish .
The Nokia 7230 also offers up a microSD card slot, allowing you to supplement the 70MB onboard which drops to a mere 45MB following ‘content preinstallation and user content’, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR wireless connectivity, a full speed USB 2.0 port (microUSB), a 3.5mm AV connection and, in terms of battery life, up to 4 hours of talktime and 14 days standby time based on a full charge (3G).
The Nokia 7230 is poised to release sometime in the first quarter of 2010 (in Europe) though, at this juncture, there’s no word on a US release date (or potential carriers).
