Apogee Teases HDMI to mDP Adapter [HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Would Bring Xbox, Blu-ray Connectivity to Macs]

Apogee has teased an HDMI to mDP adapter that could give Mac users direct connectivity with their Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Blu-ray player or similar device. The HDMI to Mini DisplayPort technology will work on the 27-inch iMac and LED Cinema Display units.
While branded as a Kanex product, this Apogee-produced HDMI to mDP adapter is designed to connect any HDMI device to the new generation of Apple displays. These include the 27-inch iMac and the new LED Cinema Displays, but will grow to encompass a larger number of products by Apple and beyond. Mini DisplayPort technology, or mDP, has been approved as a standard by VESA to ensure a wide range of product support.
This HDMI to mDP adapter will allow HDMI-enabled products like the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Blu-ray players to interface directly with popular Mac computers. Mac users will then be able to forego a television set and opt instead to center their media experience around their iMac or LED Cinema Display product. No information on pricing or availability has yet been offered by Apogee.
