Android Market App Copunt Hits 20,000 Mark

Whilst falling way short of the number of Apps offered by Apple’s App Store (which offers over 100,000 Apps), Google’s Android Market is (oh so quietly) celebrating a milestone thanks to reportedly passing the 20,000 App count just over 5 months after it passed the 10,000 count.

Interestingly, of the Apps currently available via Android Market around 62.3% are free Apps and, in testament to user satisfaction when it comes to downloaded Apps, around 46% of user reviews offer up 5 out of 5 in terms of feedback (a degree of satisfaction that far outweighs that on Apple’s App Store). Moreover, what with around 100 new Apps being added to the Android Market per day, it very much looks like the scope of Android Apps isn’t showing any signs of diminishing (which is hardly surprising considering the inroads made by Android powered handsets of late).
