Samsung Galaxy Debuts on Bell in Canada

The war for mobile customers in Canada is getting more tensed by the day. Just moments after learning that LG is releasing their first Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone, the LG IQ, on Telus, we found out that Bell are doing their little something for more media attention by announcing that starting today, the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy is available to their customers.
Rolling out for a not so cheap $99.95 price tag for those who’d sell themselves for three years with Telus, or for the expensive $449.95 if you’re not into signing contracts, unsurprisingly there’s nothing about the Samsung Galaxy that we didn’t know by now. It’s the same Android quadband GSM and dualband 900/2100 UMTS/HSPA smartphone that sports a 3.2” touchscreen display, runs on a 800MHz processor, has 128MB of integrated memory, a 3.2 megapixel camera, A-GPS functionality and a digital compass.
What’s interesting though is that for this holiday season, the competition are not doing bad, either — Telus has the HTC Hero on sale for $99.99, while Rogers asks $79.99 for the HTC Dream, Magic and LG Eve.
You gotta love competition, isn’t it?
