JVC Everio GZ HD620 Camcorder 2

Just in time for Christmas, the folks from JVC have added to their camcorder collection with their ultra-lightweight Everio GZ-HD620 model. Slated as the lightest and smallest hard drive camera in the world, the new Everio GZ-HD620 is 4.5-inches long and 2.5-inches wide, and weighs in at only 0.6 pounds (270g) although there’s a 120 GB HDD under the stylish wrapping –  good for 11 hours of footage at the maximum bit rate, 24Mbps.

The new JVC Everio GZ-HD620 crams a more sensitive backside illuminated CMOS sensor that records in light levels as low as 4 lux and promises 1920×1080 widescreen Full HD recording in AVCHD (H.264) mode thanks to its 30X f1.8-4.7 lens. For those who think that the built-in 120GB drive is not enough, there’s both a SDHC and a microSDHD card slot to boost your storage space.

Other specs include a small battery that is capable to record for just shy of 50 minutes, has Dolby Digital 2ch audio and USB (Mini), HDMI output (Mini, CEC supported), component output and AV output.

Priced somewhere north of ¥100,000 (a bit more than $1,100), if you can afford it the new JVC Everio GZ-HD620 should be released tomorrow in Japan.
