Unlocked HTC Hero With AT&T 3G Surfaces

Those looking to get their hands on a HTC Her, but wouldn’t like to get their signature on an AT&T contract in exchange for the handset, should know that Negri Electronics is tempting everyone with a SIM-free NAM version of the smartphone. Available in both white and black, the unlocked HTC Hero has 850/1900 UMTS/HSPA connectivity (AT&T 3G, yes) and should cost $585.50 or $579.50 for the two versions.
For that amount of money you’re getting the already known 3.2 inch HVGA multitouch display (320×480 pixels), a 5 megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, built-in GPS, an integrated Accelerometer and a Digital compass. There’s also Android 1.5 and HTC Sense, but if we’re to believe the phone manufacturer, HTC is actually working on coming up with an update that brings it up to date with the latest version of Android (Android 2.0 Eclair)
No word where Negri Electronics are getting their unlocked HTC Heros, but rumors have it that they’re coming from Canada, as Telus are supposedly using the same 850/1900 3G bands that AT&T has.
Still, not a bad deal! Eh?
