Verizon Samsung Omnia II Availability Confirmed

Gearing up for the hottest holiday season ever, the folks from Verizon Wireless have announced that the new Samsung Omnia II is officially available starting today. Although it took an awfully long time to hit on the market, what makes the new Omnia II so interesting (and makes us forget the delay) is that it’s Samsung’s very first TouchWiz 2.0 device and Big Red’s second Windows Mobile 6.5 handset.
Samsung Omnia II is a pretty powerful smartphone that charms with its specs sheet. Other than the eye catching 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA resistive touchscreen display that delivers colorful and high resolution imagery, it comes bundled with a 5 megapixel camera, has 8GB of built-in memory, a microSD card slot for expansion and the regular audio jack, Wi-Fi connectivity, stereo Bluetooth, EV-DO Rev. A support.
And did we mention the really keen Samsung-exclusive “Swype” keyboard that allows you to write really fast with just one hand?
The new Samsung Omnia II is available right now on a 2 year contract with Verizon and costs $200 after rebate.
