Sharp Melty Chocolate Phone Melts In Japan [Japanese Chocolate Phone Released In Japan, Looks Like Chocolate Bar, Has Chocolate-Themed Menus]

Guess where this phone is from. Something that so obviously worships food must be American, right? Or how about Swiss, with their world famous chocolates? It’s undoubtedly Japanese, with their appetite for strange gadgets (but you knew that from the title). These delicious looking phones (disclaimer – not actually chocolate) are from Sharp and being carried on Japanese telcom NTT Docomo, and are apart of a tie in with Japanese fashion brand Q-Pot.
The phones don’t look chocolate from the outside when closed, as the menus and default wallpaper on the phone are all ‘chocolate-themed’. Reportedly, the phone even comes in a ‘chocolate box-type package’. We’ve seen a lot of gaudy gadgets lately at TFTS, but this thing actually appeals to me on some level.
Aside from the chocolate motif, the phone is a regular mobile phone handset, with a 3″ screen, 8-megapixel camera, a TV tuner (which seems to be a big feature in Japan), and Bluetooth support. It’s not an Android-running 8″ touchscreen iPhone killer, but something tells me somebody looking for that kind of phone wouldn’t want a chocolate-themed phone anyway.
The phones will come in his (brown) and hers (pink) coloring. No comments on pricing (don’t expect this thing to leave Japan) but Sharp is only going to make 13,000 of them, making it limited-edition.
