JVC Kenwood AVENUE MDV-313 Car Navigation System

Following on from JVC and Kenwood merging to form JVC Kenwood the new company has acted to unveil their first in-car navigation system, namely the JVC Kenwood AVENUE MDV-313, which, along with touting a sizable 6.1” touchscreen 489 x 234 resolution display offering 3D mapping also comes with integrated DVD player and 1Seg digital TV tuner.
Serving as both a SatNav and an in-car entertainment device, the JVC Kenwood AVENUE MDV-313, along with the aforementioned digital TV and integrated DVD player additionally boasts an AM/FM radio tuner and inbuilt USB and SD card slots allowing for playback of MP3 and WMA audio files directly from memory cards and USB flash drives whilst, if you own an iPod, you can factor in the MDV-313 happily supporting Apple’s DAP to boot – though not, alas, via Bluetooth but, instead, via an optional cable (honestly, one would think a device of this calibre would offer up Bluetooth pairing, especially considering its somewhat premium price point).
The JVC Kenwood AVENUE MDV-313 Car Navigation System is set to hit retail in Japan this month with a price tag of some 90,000 Yen (which, as at the time of writing, roughly equates to around $1,034 / £623 / €686).
