Just the other day we’ve seen Activision bragging about its Call of Duty franchise. Modern Warfare 2 is a best-seller game but it looks like it’s not the only one to become that popular with the crowds. Electronic Arts has its own pearl this year. FIFA 10 is apparently Europe’s top selling game this year to date and EA has even bigger plans for the future.

FIFA 10 has sold more than 4.5 million units worldwide which is a 26% increase compared to the same period last year. FIFA 10 is apparently the fastest-selling sports videogame in the world with 1.7 million units sold in the first week in Europe.

If you love football, also known as soccer in some parts of the world, then FIFA 10 gives you the chance of competing against your friends over the Internet. 3 million games are played each day. Since the launch of FIFA 10 over 113 million online games have been played on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 which is quite impressive.

The best part for FIFA 10 lovers is that a sequel is coming. FIFA 10 Ultimate Team will let you manage teams formed of the best football stars in the world and use them to beat other gamers in online tournaments.

Paul Hossack, producer of the game described briefly the new add-on:

FIFA 10 Ultimate Team adds a lot more authenticity to a unique game that will update with new challenges and content over time. We now have over 7,000 players from 27 leagues available, from which gamers will craft one or multiple squads to show their mastery of the revamped, more realistic chemistry system, and compete in tournaments with exciting requirements and rewards. On top of that, we’ll release new tournaments and other updates regularly to keep the experience fresh and exciting.

The add-on will be available in February 2010 and it will cost you 400 Microsoft points or $4.99. Anxious to get it?
