The ASUS Eee PC 1201HA was discreetly put on sale in the United States this weekend, appearing on the website of big box electronics store Best Buy. It’s on sale at a special price of $330 with free shipping for a cyber monday deal.

The 1201HA features a 12″ monitor, and according to netbooked.net, it’s merely the same netbook as the ASUS 1101HA, but in a 12″ display. The specs are as follows – Intel Atom processor (1.33GHz), 1GB RAM (upgradable to 2), 160GB HDD, WiFi, 7 hour battery life, Windows XP Home (thats right, XP Home), three USB ports, and a media card reader.

Only XP Home? Well, the older OS probably saves ASUS (and the customer) a considerable price hit. For those willing, you could always turn to a Linux distro of your choice, or pioneer the way with Google’s new Chrome OS, which is web-based, runs exclusively web apps, and likely is designed for netbooks. Of course, if the 1201HA is too plain for you, you could always get something a little more flashy…
