Sony Ericsson Aino Comes with Touchscreen Issues [Aino Sales Stopped by Carphone Warehouse; Fix Solution Pending from Sony Ericsson]

Just yesterday we told you that the Sony Ericsson Satio has been plagued by bugs. Sure they are definitely fixable but Sony Ericsson will only deliver a final solution by Christmas. In the mean time customers should really avoid getting a Satio from Vodafone UK and other resellers if they don’t want to risk experiencing the mentioned problems.
So if you know your Sony Ericsson cell phones you might toy with the idea of getting an Aino instead. The Aino is also an impressive handset capable of meeting the mobile needs of modern consumers. Am I right? I’d like to tell you that I am right and that getting the Aino is the smart thing to do. Unfortunately for Sony Ericsson that’s not entirely true. It seems that the Aino comes with issues on board too and one should stay away of it for the time being.
Carphone Warehouse is the megastore selling the Aino in the UK and the company decided to stop Aino sales until the issues get resolved. Carphone Warehouse has temporarily halted Satio sales earlier this week and another British retailer, Phones 4U, has also decided to press the stop button on those sales.
What’s wrong with the Aino you ask? It looks like there are some problems with the touchscreen of the device. Sony Ericsson has acknowledged the issue and a solution is on the way. A Sony Ericsson spokesman said that the problem affects only a small number of customers in the UK but I think he failed to see that the combined problems of the Aino and Satio affect the image of Sony Ericsson worldwide.
I for one, do not plan on getting one of those Sony Ericsson smartphones anytime soon. In fact, I’m curious now to see if the Xperia X10, Sony Ericsson’s first Android phone, will have a flawless launch. I’d hate to be in their shoes if something should go wrong. Sony Ericsson, like Motorola, desperately needs to get back in the smartphone business and launching handsets with software issues is not the way to do it. Have you purchased an Aino or Satio recently?
