Nokia N900 Now Available in US

We previously advised you that the much hyped Nokia N900 phone had seen its release delayed but, albeit later than initially intended, the Maemo 5 touting Nokia N900 – which we’ve covered pretty extensively on TFTS – is at last now shipping in the US.

The 3G Nokia N900, apart from being a confirmed shapeshifter (a bonus, certainly) offers up a 800 x 480 resolution 3.5” 16 million color TFT resistive touchscreen display, an impressive 32GB of onboard storage capacity, (which can be further supplemented thanks to a microSD card slot), integrated WiFi (802.11 b/g) and Bluetooth V.20 wireless connectivity and a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash.

Powered by a 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 with PowerVR SGX graphics other N900 highlights, aside from its Maemo 5 OS, include A-GPS, built-in media player offering support for MP3, WMA, WAV and eAAC audio and WMV, RealVideo, MP4, AVI, XviD and DivX video file formats and, yes, you can factor in an FM tuner as well. Additionally the N900 also sports TV-out (handy for playing video content on external displays) and it also boasts Adobe Flash Player 9.4.
Available in the US now, the Nokia N900 can be obtained directly from Nokia (as well as other portals) where an unlocked N900 will set you back just shy of 650.
