A smartphone you can count on to get the job done, we just caught wind that the HTC HD2 may not be the flawless device you (and we) though it is — or at least that’s what people have reported, as of late. Although it got some really good reviews so far and carriers have battled to get their hands on it, looks like the Snapdragon-based Windows phone has some issues when it comes to taking pictures, leading to really weird pinky images.
Acknowledging the issue, folks from the HTC Support have said that the pink tint that shows in the center of the images is actually a “software issue” that should be corrected soon by upgrading the camera processing algorithm. More to it, they have advised anyone experiencing these problems to check with their vendor and ask them to replace the handset with a new one.
We can confirm that this issue has been determined as a software issue. The developers are working on a hotfix to resolve, and it will be released as soon as possible. There is not a specific date for the release as yet, please continue to monitor the support pages for the release.
No word on how many HD2 handsets have the pink issue, but we can confirm not all have it.
Thanks Leonard Tsui for the tip
