Tesco Mobile iPhone 3G & iPhone 3GS Release Confirmed

Tesco to Offer iPhone On Contract & PAYG in Joint Venture with O2

Tesco iPhone 3GS

Tesco, a company that seems intent on world domination, have confirmed that their mobile phone division, Tecso Mobile, are to offer both the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS on contract and Pay as You Go before Christmas.

As Tesco look to grow its mobile division significantly – Tesco plan to have over 100 Tesco Phone Shops open for business in UK high streets before the year’s out – they are yet to confirm either pricing of the 3G/3GS or offer any specific availability date but carrying the iPhone is undoubtedly a pretty shrewd move as Tesco is looking to make significant inroads into a particularly lucrative market sector. And, of course, whilst their presence will impact on other UK network providers (Tesco is a formidable force regardless of what they turn their hand to) it won’t do O2 any harm, as they’re in on the action (what with Tesco Mobile’s 3G coverage being provided courtesy of O2).

Tesco have already put up an iPhone page on their Tesco Direct site where you can register your interest and on which the (specifically) iPhone 3GS is listed merely as ‘coming soon’.
