Olympus Pen E-P1 Gets Swarovski Treatment [Limited Edition Crystal-studded Pen E-P1 Appealing to Fashionistas, Makes Geeks Go Eww]

Swarovski Olympus Pen E-P1 Camera 3

Half a year ago when the folks from Olympus took the wraps off of their new Pen E-P1 micro four thirds camera we couldn’t have imagined that a pimped out version would shock us that much. Nothing more than an extreme eyesore for the passionate geek, this Swarovski-coated digi-cam is a limited edition model with some fine retro-styling that just got covered with hundreds of “sparkling” crystals for a more luxurious appeal — which honestly, doesn’t buy in for us.

Other than the special coating, under the hood there’s the same Olympus Pen E-P1 that brings the compact proportions of a point and shoot camera and delivers close to a DSLR  thanks to its interchangeable lenses and the 720p HD video recording capabilities.

Available in a special wooden box with “two lenses” (supposedly the 14-42mm zoom and the 17mm “pancake” lens) and a matching flash, the Swarovski Olympus Pen E-P1 is is only available to order from Micro Anvika in the sound and vision department of Harrods, in London, so if it gets to your heart, make sure you have some 2,000 pounds before going out shopping.
