New Creative Vado HD Pocket Video Camera Unveiled

Just when the ever popular Flip ‘YouTube’ pocket video camera is set to gain WiFi connectivity Creative have unveiled the newest iteration of its Vado HD pocket video camera in the form of the 3^rd Gen Vado HD which, according to Creative, serves to build upon ‘the great features the Vado HD line is already known for, such as HDMI out and a wide-angle lens.

Apart from a number of enhancements on and over that offered by its predecessor (see below for details), the new 3^rd Gen Creative Vado HD video camera will come bundled with the new Vado Central 3.0 software which offers ‘more instant web uploading capabilities’ (surely something is either instant or it isn’t?) as well as integrated editing options which allow for rudimentary video editing, so don’t get overly excited here (Creative confirm that those looking for more advanced editing options can edit videos in other editing programs, including iMovie and Movie Maker’).

3^rd Gen Creative Vado HD Pocket Video Cam Enhancements (over 2^nd Gen):

• Improved quality of video in low light or brightly lit conditions with manual exposure adjustments
• External stereo microphone support for better audio recording
• Headphone output for private listening
• Motion Detection Mode enables users to program the camera to begin recording as soon as motion is detected
• Out-of-the box Mac and PC compatibility
• Still Photo Capture Mode

The new Creative Vado HD pocket cam, which is offered in black or white (no pink one just yet) is up for pre-order now from Creative’s own online web store and will set you back just shy of $180.
