MIMO iMO Secondary Display Specs & Price Released

I usually check out secondary displays because I seem to need more and more screen space when it comes to working, playing games or even surfing the Internet. And I’d normally choose a bigger display to suit my needs. But the older I get, the bigger the secondary display gets. Do I need glasses or is technology advancing a lot faster than we care to admit?
Well I definitely don’t need glasses, at least not yet, but that doesn’t mean I’d be willing to choose smaller secondary displays from now on.
Not everyone needs a bigger display all the time and for those customers MIMO has developed a 7-inch touchscreen monitor. The iMo Pivot Touch is now available in stores for $199.99 with free shipping and free MIMO Care Package. The special offer is available from November 23-30, part of the Black Friday deals offered by MIMO. So if you don’t want to pay for shipping you should definitely buy the display now.
MIMO says that the iMo Pivot Touch is the first “touchscreen monitor on the market to dip below $200.” It also happens to be a 7-inch monitor, so in my book it’s still expensive. The device will offer you an 800 x 480 resolution, 350 cd/m2 brightness and 400:1 contrast ratio. The monitor measures 7.5- x 5.25- x 5- inch and weighs 1.2lbs with the stand. It only needs an USB connection to power up and it can be used with or without the stand. It’s similar to one of those first digital picture frames that appeared a while ago. Only this monitor also packs touch support which means you’ll be able to control it without the need of a mouse or any other peripheral.
The iMo Pivot Touch comes with drivers for Windows XP, Vista and it will also work with Windows 7. Drivers for Mac OS X are not included in the box but they are also available if you’re thinking about adding this secondary LCD monitor to your current Mac.
What do you think? Is it worth paying $199.99 for a 7-inch touchscreen display like the iMo Pivot Touch?
