AT&T iPhone & Verizon Motorola Droid

It seems that the jousting between AT&T and Verizon shows no signs of abating any time soon (you’ll find links to our coverage of the ongoing spat below) and now we two new AT&T Apple iPhone ads that ask ‘Can your phone do that?’ which, whilst not specifically mentioning the (Verizon) Motorola Droid, is patently intended to dress the Droid down a notch or two (Apple Ad Dresses Driod Down – now there’s a tabloid headline for you).

You can view the two new AT&T Apple iPhone ads bwlow but, for those of you who are still in the dark concerning the war of words between AT&T and Verizon you’ll find that the below reading will serve to put you pretty extensively in the know.

Here’s the latest instalment with the two aforementioned ‘Does your phone do that?’ ads that, as mentioned above, are all too evidently hitting back at the Motorola Droid (which Verizon just happens to carry).

AT&T’s ads are off target. The original Verizon “there’s a map for that” ad is talking about 3G service, not general cell phone service. Of course AT&T provides service to a large portion of the nation but that’s not what Verizon ads are talking about. It is true that AT&T is way behind Verizon in terms of 3G coverage.
